Splash pad season has officially arrived in Centreville, South Riding, Aldie, Clifton, Fairfax Station, and all around our corner of Northern Virginia! Whether you've got toddlers who love a gentle bubbler or big kids itching for a dumping bucket and water cannons, there's a perfect spot nearby to beat the heat.

Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park Splash Pad - Aldie
This 257-acre regional park is the crown jewel of family fun in our area, and the 10,000-square-foot splash pad is the star of the show. Kids go wild for the activator spray grounds, the water-squirting spider, water cannons, and the big bucket drop. Best of all? It's completely FREE.
When you need a break from the water, there are two playgrounds with cushioned rubberized surfaces (including inclusive features so kids of all abilities can play), shaded pavilions, clean restrooms, water fountains, and tons of picnic space.

- 💡 Mom tip: If you're heading southbound on Evergreen Mill Road, take the second entrance to park closest to the splash pad. Pack snacks, water shoes, and a change of clothes, even the "I don't want to get wet" kid ends up soaked!
Catharpin Recreational Park Splashground - ⭐ NEW FAVORITE
This hidden gem quickly became one of our favorite splash spots after a recent visit! The splash pad is right next to a modern playground, making it easy for kids to switch between climbing, sliding, and cooling off. It's the kind of place where families can comfortably spend an entire day.
The park is thoughtfully designed with four changing rooms, clean restrooms, shaded picnic tables, and plenty of space to relax while the kids play. Pack a lunch and enjoy a full day outdoors—you'll have everything you need.

💡 Mom tip: Bring a picnic and plan to stay awhile! Between the splash pad, playground, shaded tables, and changing rooms, this is one of the easiest parks for a full family day out.
Atlantis Waterpark - Centreville (Bull Run Regional Park)
When the day calls for the full water-park experience, Atlantis delivers. The centerpiece is a 500-gallon dumping bucket surrounded by covered slides, open slides, water cannons, and sprayers. Bigger kids can brave the two waterslides (a 230-foot open slide and a 170-foot ride in complete darkness!), while littles splash safely in the baby pool and sand play area.

Dulles South Recreation & Community Center Leisure Pool - South Riding
Too hot, or rain in the forecast? Head indoors! The leisure pool at Dulles South is a year-round favorite, with a 125-foot water slide, a children's play area, a lazy river, a vortex, and a zero-depth entry that's perfect for little ones easing into the water. Grown-ups can unwind in the hot tub while the kids splash away.
